Ecoli mastitis

only personal experience but we have used teat sealers before they were licenced in the UK.
We have selective dry cow tubed for well over a decade. Admittedly we have had a strep Ub problem this season but that is a dry cow housing issue not a DCT issue. Anyway my point is we have not had a cow with Ecoli in 7-8 seasons.previous to that we would lose 3 or 4 a yr.:(

I know when our cell count drops below 100 i start looking for ecoli, ecoli specifically as there's no immunity and if they come across anything on the beds or anywhere they r at risk, if it's that major a problem I'd change the bedding, I find if we start getting a bit of mastitis I always look to the bedding. do u have cluster flush? Our cell counts steady at around 160, maybe get a couple cases of ecoli a year

Pre dip with bluemax stuff, wipe and units on, 14 up each side so the cow has plenty of time to let milk down, started mixing lime into the kiln dried sawdust so hoping for a good run of no mastitis! Ecoli is a nightmare tho, always a 40+ litre cow that takes it

184 milking 210 in herd, post spray pre dip. This might sound silly but I sent a sample of mastitis away on Friday and it came back ecoli! What r the chances. Double teamed her with synulox tubes and synulox injection and she's right as rain now

just seen this thread.Last couple winters not had one case of e coli mastitis since using Nadins cubicle lime I put it on every 2 days usually , every day on some cubicles if they are damp/dirty. Our cell counts are under 100 all winter and mastitis is more of a problem in summer ironically

In time yes as dairy requests that but at min I'm a bit overstocked so did not want to stop until spring time onwards , will I see a benefit?
