BOSSFARMERS' DEBATES

I know some people get exasperated with @Bossfarmer posts and his attitude is a bit marmite but let's face it, the threads he's started haven't half created some debate.

To be honest I haven't worked our whether they are for his benefit or ours

Remove Batters. 41 pages
Turkeys voting for Christmas 23 pages
Cereal farmers. 19 pages
Thrown under the bus. 24 pages
Trade deals. 17 pages

And more I'm sure, got to give him some credit for getting us all talking and learning from each other eh?

They mainly fill up with ill informed opinion being spouted as fact, which is then repeated ad nauseum.
People bring an entrenched opinion to these "debates" and will swear black is white before they admit that the opposite view has some valid.
As debate they are entirely pointless.

Surely the good point there is that it means those 'entrentched' persons will be reading others opinions like it or not?

Folk criticise Boss but look at the number of posts and views his threads get
it is a well known secret that Pasty and Boss cook up these threads between them, just to keep us all arguing ;):ROFLMAO:

I have no problem with the subject matter or the debate in general. It's a worthwhile and useful discussion to have, plus it's hugely entertaining!

It's the blokes attitude that I can't get my head round. It's like he sees himself as some sort of lone crusader fighting for British Agriculture and you're either with him or against him, and if you're against him then you're against British agriculture end of! There's no middle ground, there's no compromise and there's no hope, only fear and loss. This does the industry no favours whatsoever!

But it's not fair to single BF out either. There have been a few posts floating around recently by other members that have made me cringe and hope no one from outside the farming community sees them.

But hey, variety is the spice of life! Be boring if we were all the same.
