Well forgive me for being a glass half empty merchant but it seems those in the trade know whats going on well in advance of us , the posts on here going on about the bio plant picking up within hours of buying and paying just short of full milling spec to me speak 'we' had a good idea oil prices were to rise , get it bought.

Hopefully those of us willing to gamble on holding on will be rewarded ?

if the merchants know whats going to happen why did most urge us to sell a few months ago or am I becoming far too cynical ,but then a lot of my marketing strategy is if someone wants it dont sell yet and its served me well over the years

I can assure you that if traders could accurately predict the market all the time. We'd be sat on a sun lounger, somewhere warm.......Jozez, Jozez, can I have another Singapore Sling!!
ah well I wouldnt , I would rather be slithering down an alpine mountain in the spring, which is what I will be doing on the windfall of not doing what the trade were suggesting a few months ago. ho ho

It may come as a big surprise, but generally the trade would rather see the farmers sell at the top of the market than the bottom.... We do want farmers to be profitable and therefore a customer for the next year. If you go bust that doesnt help anyone.

As for thinking 'You want to buy it cheap' if I want to change my position futures are a much easier, and cheaper, way of doing so than buying farm grain.

If the trade are giving their option on when to sell or not its because we are trying to advise based on the information in front of us. The rise in prices this year has been totally down to currency, and if you honestly held off selling because you thought you could trade the currency then I suggest you are either gambling, which any fool can do, or someone who could be earning 7 figures in the City by calling the market correctly.

It was a binary choice back in June really wasn't it, stay in and strong pound(n)/ Brexit and weaker pound(y). Add in big looking crops.
50/50 gamble and some of us called it wrong.
Winners get the bragging rights....
