Better with diesel for occasional use.
The coolant can tend to stain (rust) if left for any length of time, or you forget to turn the engineering shop heater on in damp weather?

Think I was having a dim moment ,,found some on ebay ,,good enough for my few jobs
no dim moments at all, as you see, some of it is good and some of it isnt great going by some comments here.

i have a similar system on the mag drill here, its a good job on the mag when drilling but it can be a pita to be filling it all the time, altho flood coolant is best for the broaching cutters.

if its only normal drills your using then you should pick up a tin of this stuff, its excellent cutting compound.

its about as good as it gets for a paste and a tin of it will last you a lifetime.

I just use this:

Quite a bit more expensive in the long run though.
My uncle just bought a magdrill with a bottle on it as in your link. Thought it was a great idea until we realised the magdrill is rarely used drilling downwards, and with the oil boing gravity fed... He ended up buying the above.

For general lathe & mill work then most soluble oils are okay as flood coolant, but remember to thoroughly clean/dry parts (and kit) after machining. Don't leave any diluted stuff hanging around for more than 6 months as the biocides will degrade & Legionella etc will start to grow. For occasional use, a bottle of Rocol RTD Liquid (sticky red/brown stuff) is my preferred weapon, RTD Cleancut is also good & doesn't cause staining.

When I did my centre lathe course, (mid 1970 s) there was a drive to make machinists aware that sudds was a carcinogen, many cases of scrotal cancer being due to the area being "manipulated" with sudds coated hands! Take care gents!
