If you want to feel confined, do take a trip to the Submarine museum at Gosport, and have a look around the Alliance, an "A" class boat(Submarine). There is a P&O class boat at Chatham as well. Unless I can find a coach trip, I wont be going to visit Belfast, the fact that she is in London puts me right off.

I use MSC for tooling mainly, but have used others for odd bits, iirc RDG Tools (think that's right?)
MSC mainly though, prices aren't too bad, quality good and service top notch, can't ask for more TBH , I only look elsewhere if they haven't got what I want, which is rare. You will all tell me there are cheaper elsewhere no doubt, but their service takes some beating I think.

+1 for both MSC & RDG, the other two I've used on and off have been Chronos and Arc Eurotrade. Arc can be hit and miss on stock levels as he imports most stuff direct. It's worth remembering that most stuff is cheap for a reason, so if it's cheap don't expect performance to a high standard. That said, treat it accordingly and the cheap stuff is more than good enough for most jobs.

You've also got to love the less than stringent approach to PPE! There's some great footage on YouTube of folk in the 50's & 60's working in civil engineering & machine shops that would cause most H&S folk die of heart attack!
