Fingers crossed that next weekend I can start turning out some stock on my away HLS. Only a bull and a cow and calf and three yearling heifers to a friend for her horse paddocks for the summer but it will make a big difference. For a start the pen where he is won't chew through as much straw as he trammels up and down with every bulling heifer in the next pen getting him gee'd up and I can put the last four in-calf cows in the big pen in my shed making bedding up and feeding so much easier as I don't need Freddie the wing man on the entrance gate any more.
So today I thought I'd go lopping some low tree limbs and I had three little hedge trees down across the wire in the parkland in the village. Nine new fence posts and seven full link box loads of sawn logs back to my log store later, I think we've finished.

It's got a clear run into the ditch a couple of hundred yards away if there's a lot of rain, but I just don't fancy shovelling all that gravel if it's made all that clay sticky
