BCA used to have something like a 3 hour window. Basically because you can't hear them run properly amongst all the auction houses noise. I have forgotten the details now as it is a few years since I last bought a car or van at auction. I used to go to sort all of my family's and business automotive needs.Shouldnt be, should be sold as seen when hammer drops its yours thats why things are cheaper.
At this stage I would be checking auto trader etc to see what comparable vehicles are priced at, at dealers.Well quick update, I've contacted the auctioneers again, this time they said a manager will get back to me.
I've rung every breaker I can find and it looks like thorntons are the only ones with an engine and they want £1700 which I'm really not comfortable with but might be the only way out.
I've ring round some machine shops asking about rebuilds, I haven't managed to get hold of bilcar yet, but only one other wanted to know, they are 60mile away and have a 3 week waiting list. Rough costing 2k.
cut your loses and put it on ebay , what people pay for some stuff is unreal .
thainstone, oh yes wherewatched a ranger go through thainstone a couple of weeks ago , 70000or 90000 miles I cant remember auto gearbox , £2900 should have bought as it looked good value .
I kept on until I reached someone from billcar, first people I spoke to that actually sounded like they wanted the job. They are talking rough figures of £1500-2000, so my mechanic is going to get the engine out first chance he gets and I'll take it up to Shrewsbury!
