as the title reads,Can anyone recommend a free easy to use to use app for android and iphone for my xmeye cctv as the xmeye one is proving impossible to install. please don't tell me that I should have invested thousands as the cameras and dvd work quite adequately for what I want them for.

Yes I use it with a selection of Lilin and Axis cameras and it is very straightforward. It has hundreds of camera profiles, although I can't find xmeye, I'm sure it would work

IPcamviewer is very good too on Android; not sure if there is an Apple version though I'm afraid.

I use xmeye on my android, had no problem installing, works well
Have CMS on pcs

Superlive pro for iPhone, You can use the quick reader for the settings

Can you view it away from home
Use it around here but never seem to have any signal when I remember to try it away from home network

So for the computer illiterate ?
Buy an ip camera - link up to your internet - play -record to your phone anywhere you get mobile network is it ?
Where and what is best one to buy ?

All my IP cams record to my Synology NAS box. It's running Surveillance Station 8.0 which is a free app. The box allows 2 free camera licenses but you can buy more licenses for about £12 each from memory.

The total number of cameras you can simultaneously record is limited by the size/hardware of the Synology box, but there is a size available for practically every budget from 8 cameras right up to 1000 cameras on the one box. It also works with a huge variety of IP cameras from virtually every camera vendor.

I can remotely view the cameras in realtime and all recordings from my phone using the DS Cam app or for more sophisticated stuff just use a laptop.

All this will work remotely even when the farm is connected over a 4G internet connection, as Synology implements its own (seemless and free) VPN connection technology. So you can connect back to the farm from anywhere in the world.
