Bit of a rush today to get on before weather breaks so ploughing with mixer wagon tractor.

Bit light on the nose. Still struggled with this on front! Have had this plough on a 6420s so must be really light on front.

It's 1. 30am I'm wide awake and my heads buzzing!
I've got to be up at 6am to help my mate, but there is not much chance of me sleeping tonight.
So these pics are actually yesterday at work.
Did some stone separating in the day.

Now we come to the real reason I'm so happy

Then in the evening i helped milk just under 400 of these beauties from 8.30pm till 12.00am.
And I can do it all again tomorrow night. (y) :)
Is that an internal rotary?
Looks cumbersome to work in (to my untrained eye :cautious:)

Been having a root through the store lambs (not me obviously :cautious:)

^^^^there's a few more than that^^^^^^^
The 'lucky' first draw :unsure::)

I kicked some cows into the collecting yard while the boss took the lambs in :)

Fed and bedded my girls (y)

This cheeky bull arrived :)

And anyone want to guess 'who's the daddy'? Father-in-law thinks these came in the Jacob ewe he bought. Whatever they are, they're beauties

Yes it is an internal rotary. Do you say 40 point?

I am definately making it look difficult in that picture to be fair.
I've got 3 milkings under my belt now and I'm a lot better coordinated.
I had only been shown one way to hang the claw in that pic, later I was shown other ways which made the job a lot easier.

As a complete novice I felt very safe with the steelwork between me and the kicky heifers.
I'm sure if you saw experienced milkers working one you would be impressed.

And they have offered me a job if I want it.
That's a YES from me.

And, and, and they have bulls as well, I have to keep pinching myself.

What size machine is this beastie?
Used a few different machines on the plough over the years and rate the Deutz up there with the best, nice and sparky.
It's all been ploughing on the land though with a 5 to 6 furrow conventional semi- they don't lift the nose (y)

This day I have mostly been wearing sparks (y)

Had a call from the lamb drafter to sort out a load of lambs for the truck tomorrow, so I got welding and got my swing race into a state that it's useable. Still needs latches and a brace in the middle but it works as well, if not better than planned.

I can set it up by myself in two minutes, heavy sucker but it swings well. Ran these fatties through it and pulled out 5 that are off to the butcher shop, almost 300kg on the hoof!

But have 80 prime ones to load out tomorrow. Time for a whisky and then bedtime stories for the boys (y) we are watching the ram lambs having a joust out the window

Yes!! It was a bit close in the back of the workshop at times, but I took out the back window (just corrugated plastic roof held in with screws) and let more breeze through.
Those big heavy angle irons at the end were part of a power pylon and had a serious amount of galv. Awful stuff to weld, popping and sparking like railway iron.. but got there and got it working with 15 minutes to spare (y) even got the kink in the right place to keep it a constant width. Ta for the advice re welding it.
