Drought for cows

Yes we could do with some rain here in Staffordshire, otherwise we will have run out of grass in 2 weeks I reckon. Bad time of year to have a drought.

Would be nice to have a decent soak to get fodder beet, grass, maize and whole crop away to a good start. Same as @jackrussell101 another couple of weeks would see us out of grass, but we are carrying higher than normal silage stocks out of winter, so could eat into that without worrying too much.

Anyhow it looks like there might be a bit of rain later in the coming week.

Not on the platform, made enough round bales last year for two winters so would rather not if I can help it. Probably running a slightly higher average cover than we should, but will quickly eat into it with falling growth rates.

How's your spring corn coming on? Ours is ok on the good bits and pretty poor on the heavier land.

Been growing sub 40 for last two weeks.

Will have to start feeding a bit of silage alongside the 3kg wholecrop they are already getting. Not a problem, we made loads last two years during good grow times.

Got to be flexible.
