Do we need paper forms this year? I know I am thick as sh!t but when I went online seemed like only woodland and boundary capital items were available to apply for online. :scratchhead: Any help on where to look gratefully received. Seems like they do everything possible to make it difficult. Do you have any idea @Feldspar ? TIA

Pay someone to do it for you.
WIN.
That's what people say about BPS too, but TBH given that I have to supply all the information I can't really see how they earn their £500o_O
People I know who use agents seem to have jus about as many problems as those that don't IME.
Also don't want to spend the money in case I get rejected.

I'm thinking the same. Never applied for anything 'extra' than bps.

Agent sorted BPS issues out which I couldnt sort in 2 years.

Agent will have applied for many schemes and know what ticks the boxes. They know how many "points" those who have been successful have used, and how many those who have failed used. If you stand to earn £25k or so in the scheme then I dont think some professional advice is out of the question. Suppose it depends on how complex you want to make it - if its just 6m fancy margins around everything then maybe not. If there are some sizable capital items then maybe so.

I hear what you say. However my claim will be worth no where near 25k and I'm not in an area to allow me to get loads of capital grants......

I can highly recommend the mid-tier workshops / discussions / roadshows which seem to be doing the rounds. Brother and dad went to one and were pleased with info. There are also one-to-ones for those who need some help to apply.

Another thing that is poorly publicised! I found out about my nearby one the day before it was happening and had urgent spraying to do.....

I agree that an agent e.g. FWAG are a good investment. They speak the language NE want to hear and understand the implications of some of the management prescriptions. Make sure you hire one with experience, not just a graduate who will read you the rule book!

I agree that an agent e.g. FWAG are a good investment. !

Due to the lack of demand driven by the problems associated with their recent sad tendency to over-complication, Brisel, NE have now downsized so much that there is now far more relevant expertize commercially available to us than to them.

That is of little consolation to me as I put together a Higher Tier application! My advisor has had this job dropped on her & I'm her first. I'm using an agent who does 20+ applications/year including 6 HT ones past year and another 5 this year. For a sizeable agreement running into hundreds of thousands over the 5 years a grand on fees is money well spent IMO.

Without wanting to hijack here I was just wondering what the payment is for higher level stewardship scheme, some land nearby has come up for sale and has been in the scheme but ends on 31st of July, any advice would be helpful even if it's a private message
