Getting CCTV for a farm

Hello,
Me and my stepfather are looking to set a CCTV system around the farm that would spread to 200m.
I was trying to find good cameras but probably will need your help.
We are looking for CCTV system that will preferably have motion sensors as well.

It is 4 cameras that we want to get with a price 200 pounds per each camera. How would it look like with motion sensors, is it something separate we would need to get or can we have cameras that do it.

Anything you can recommend? Should we go wireless or wired? Would it notify us on a smartphone or something if it detects an intruder?

Why put cctv around the farm, to watch people rob you? Your wasting your money. A £75 Pir phone dialller sensor will do the job, slot a few around the place.

I was working for a home owner this week doing an extention, anyway we were told to help our selves to tea and biscuit in the house.there was a camera up the corner in the kitchen which id not seen but workmates had.we thought we were being spied on but it was for when his daughter came home from school alone the camera activated his phone so he could see she was ok.she wpuld be about 12 id imagine.surely systems must be available on a similar basis for industrial and farm units

Went out with some friends on friday night they have one in the doorbell linked to his phone ,it records if someone comes close to the door and you can talk to them or just view the driveway, some interesting footage of parcel delivery people ! from ring .com

Im not an expert on cctv but i have 3 systems one using coaxial cable the other two using computer network cables , the later called IP cameras are by far the best.

The cameras record to hard disc and can be set to be activated by movment However rain , snow spiders leaves , trees etc will all set the camera recording as well as people in your yard , in essence it would be no good for at giving you true intruder activation, im sure there are products that will , but maybe not attached to the camera. Cameras that can be set to start and record at activity are well worth having for the reasons below.

However IP cameras are good at finding the footage of activity ,on ours you get a graph of activity during the day from the cameras movment detection, by clicking it till you find what you are looking for is far easier watching hrs of traditional cctv to find the same.

In essence CCTV is a a great tool , however I dont think using CCTV for your intruder detection is maybe the answer in its self . With some additional proximity sensors on an alarm or gate would give less false alarms , and using cctv to confirm that would work well .

Give Mark Ward a call on: 01555 445972 / 07923 082952 he did mine a few years ago.

He can talk you through what is available and quote you for a system. He is very reasonable.
