What's Firewood Worth?

Hello,

I've cut down a load of oak tree branches, logged them, stacked them in my 6t grain trailer, it's over three quarters full now.

It's virtually all oak, and handy size stuff for a log burner. I realise that it will have to dry out before it goes on the fire.

What's it worth? It's of no use to me, so would like to sell it, in a job lot if possible...

Oak is a superb timber to burn when it is DRY. Never ever accept anything less than £100 per bagged/boxed cubic metre. You do the splitting & bagging then put it under cover to dry for TWO years NO LESS. Then you will have the timber equivalent to coal. Importantly split into pieces that can be manoeuvered with one hand so approx 300mm long X 150mm X 150mm. Oak is the evenings slow burner & will go all night in your wood-burner. I'll just remind you......Dry, dry, dry. Takes TWO years. Then you've a VERY valuable product. Don't ever be under-sold!

I don't sell but I was in the primary supply chain for a number of years & I know what it should sell at & I'd advise anyone with a quality product NOT to under-sell or be fooled into doing so. Particularly good quality firewood.
If you are in any way connected @woodworm you & I may have mutual associations in the 'timber business':p

A picture of what , In my opinion is the 'perfect' piece of oak firewood. Moisture content less than 20% & easily handled.

They say a year an inch for oak! Personally I leave it out until only the heart wood is left. Then log it and stack it away for at least 2 years as you say. Then it is epic. Trying to burn green oak leaves you with a cold, smouldering, stinking mess.

With all due respect, your are in a VERY different area and market
It may well be worth what you are saying but I can't imagine anyone around here paying anything near that
