I think it is @JP1 may know more
Belt is dominant over solid although you can get a white galloway from that cross (like a dog white is not a "colour" but literally a whitewash over the phenotypical colour base underneath).

Usually belt x solid = belt

Belted is incompletely dominant so you can get a partial belt from two solid animals with belted in the history.

Cross a belt with a line back like a Riggit Galloway and you can either get a belted or a hybrid with line back and belt (the original "Cornish" marking)

Bet he'd love to see the calves on them and their size / milk not pulling them down. Are they quiet?
both cows are quiet as mice, the red one seems to have thrown to the South Devon more the calf will pull her down a bit but she soon puts it back on after weaning the lack one seems more belty like and don't seem to lose so much condition
here she is with the bull

Fair size cow then. I like the South Devon as a cross too, frame and calm and milky. I always thought my neighbours Simm x SD were at least the equal of his Simmentals and their 3/4 cross calves were excelent

Yes New Forest ponies Roy H. They now have rare breed status. Most were purchased as foals from the Beaulieu road sales, pleased with how the colt foal has matured and he successfully passed the breeds colt inspection last year.
