Will let @Landyman tell you, but I hear there will be one happy :cat:

Got summat in my eye.
Im having problems with the steering on my little car and it would cost me a few hundred quid in my pickup (not that money is an issue where the big lad is concerned but i was a honorary Yorkshire man for 30 years ,, old habits and all that ) anyhow i digress. . Had a redundancy meeting with the bosses and the one of the directors said, before we start pete i need to ask you about the cat,, funny you should mention that says i , i need a favour can i borrow the company's car for the weekend to take the big lad to his new home :) the managing director said we will class it as his redundancy payment then :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: good man (y)

CAT UPDATE
the crafty bugger escaped my grip and did a runner, so unfortunately it looks like he will be staying in the deserted foundry for the time being :banghead:

Now he wont come near me so there is no second chance, but at least the security guards will keep feeding him for me :)

My local Cats Protection place lend me traps when I have strays. I think they'd be pleased to help knowing he's not coming to them!

Its peak was the earlier years of the last century, at its height it employed up to 4000 folk.

It is rare around here to not know someone in engineering who has either worked there, or has a relative who worked there. Most starting as an apprentice, from drawing office to foundry men.
If you had worked at M&P you were almost guaranteed to walk right into another foundry job elsewhere.
