Ducks Foot Bale Handler.

Going to make up a bale handler and put the ducks foot (paddles) over the spikes. Intend to use 80x80 box for the frame. Two questions: 1. What wall thickness should the box be? 2. What distance should the spikes be kept apart, bearing in mind that the paddles will have to be put over them when using the handler on wrapped bales? Thanks in advance.

Do you mean like a soft hands type of handler?

This is a bale lifter for the 3 point linkage, two spikes for hay, and the ducks foot (paddles) over the spikes for wrapped bales,

Every days a school day I've never seen one of those before.

There's some dimensions on the major website. Doesn't say the centre to centre of the tines but it might give you an idea.
