Which pickup to buy

We tow maxed out nearly every day and the new navara was the best all round option. Don't carry more than 500kg in the back. Plenty of power and comfy. Good on juice as well.

Seriously look at an auto of your chosen vehicle. Personally had a D-Max bought new in 2013. Does everything it's supposed too. Mine had rust from new and paint is thin at best. I know of 2 16 plates with same rust as mine had on tail gate and back doors. Dealer also came the old 'stone chip' twaddle that I got to start with. Don't know if all autos pre face lift are the same but mine has throttle lag pulling out of junctions which is the wrong side of annoying and seemingly can't be sorted. Quite thirsty too @ 24 to 26mpg, worse when towing. Actually my d-max is that good  I'll probably look at a Ford or VW next time though not sure the latter is too expensive.

I thought the dmax was supposed to be really economic?

Small note, leather seats will become smooth and shinny though lack of care..... apply leather cleaner then a good quality leather cream( food) they will may be too far gone but if done from new they will stay non shinny but remain smooth.

Personally I'd always go leather as when dog jumps/ brother gets in covered in slub..... you can clean it easier than cloth seats

Heavy duty canvas seat covers are very popular here in work vehicles & tractors. Far more comfortable than vinyl in summer & winter, far more durable & practical than other fabric coverings. Almost a "default" accessory for any new ute
As for leather - Ive NEVER seen that in a work vehicle, you blokes are obviously more upmarket than us . . . . :)

Like the sound of them, better than the hot ar5e nylon ones we get.

I like that cover. Hope its not real duck though.

Most so-called leather in pickups are more like Mercedes Artico 'leather', being articial leather that is really just a high quality plastic or what we used to call vinyl seats. There may be a small amount of cow hide leather on the seat face but otherwise it is vinyl.

high quality plastic is still plastic, even if it has Mercedes on it :)

nothing worse than vinyl seats in a hot climate . . .
