I just followed a fastrac with a huge bale trailer fully loaded, when he made to turn right his right taillight glimmered a few times, no orange flash nothing. madness
or respect the law and abide to the highway code etc..... If everyone keeps flouting the AG road rules re vehicle lighting and brakes etc.... sooner or later MOT will become compulsory.... The sooner the better.
The whole ''crack on, it'll be alright'' attitude in ag, be it safety, rules, laws etc. Needs to stop as its slowly killing what little respect the public has for our industry
I remember seeing a very wealthy Irish business with a fastrac (the one with a massive rear wheel as opposed to all 4 equal sizes) and it was on road haulage. The tractor and trailers were on air, but the tractor was only using the hydraulic brakes. No brake away system. Its a common problem. How many silage wagons are running air breaks? Or balers or anything trailed.
I would have thought abs for 60k would be more logical and air for above 40K; but ABS does make sense. Don't know how many times I left rubber on the road.
If you end up in an accident and someone can prove you were doing above 40k, either as a witness or via dashcam etc; then you'll know all about it. Its one thing to have common sense. But its another thing to be on the wrong side of the law. A lot of people on the road are only too keen to be involved in an accident, and id rather have my ducks in order.
Out of curiosity; what are the fasted tractors (fast tracs, unimogs exempt)?
Some of those big dyna 6 mf can move?
Are the 800 & 900 series fendts king of the road?
Fastrac can do more than 65 kGot to be the 65K Fendts now? They really do fly..

The manufacturing industry don't want MOT's either. I think the sooner the better maybe the manufacturers will have to sort out their shitty oil immersed brakes that over heat and wear out with no warning.or respect the law and abide to the highway code etc..... Another excuse to put the prices up!!!!(but this should have been addressed well before now)The manufacturing industry don't want MOT's either. I think the sooner the better maybe the manufacturers will have to sort out their shitty oil immersed brakes that over heat and wear out with no warning.
Nothing wrong with oil immersed brakes if used how they are designedThe manufacturing industry don't want MOT's either. I think the sooner the better maybe the manufacturers will have to sort out their shitty oil immersed brakes that over heat and wear out with no warning.
I do hope not! I have fitted some to my Leyland!Nothing wrong with oil immersed brakes if used how they are designed

Brakes are a wear item and when they do wear out (and they will) the first you know is sh!t in the hydraulic system and gearbox. There is no warning light why not? When they do overheat which granted is often but not always through driver abuse they brake up and go through the hydraulics and gearbox with no warning. Again why no warning light? If oil immersed brakes are so good why are they not used in any other mode of transport?Nothing wrong with oil immersed brakes if used how they are designed
