bit off topic, but could someone tell me approx cost of 25k bag of pellets and if you need any paperwork to purchase. Thinking it could do a good job in wet areas for liver fluke snail. Thanks in anticipation.

Is that a tractor wheel weight in the middle of it?!! ballast to stop it rolling over?
Yes it is an old wheel weight. Previously it was a single axle, two wheel setup, and that helped to lower centre of gravity. When it was modified to four wheels, just left it on. Probably doesn't need it now.

Hope this works, as I've never posted a photo before. The four wheel set up virtually eliminates bouncing even on subsoiled OSR. Having it trailed makes hooking on or off a 60 second job.
This looks a very nice setup. How did it stand the test of time? I have an old homemade single axle trailer with pelletter mounted over a 200kg load bay, but I am fed up with having to reweld it due to it bouncing up and down on the one axle. I had thought a tandem axle would be good and like your design, so am pleased to see yours. Can you please explain what the wheel assembly mounting detail is for? It almost looks like it allows for the rear wheels to steer? I have considered putting the trailer wheels at different wheel centres to each other, though still on a tandem axle, possibly with one wheel mounted on the inside of the tandem beam and one on the outside, with both outside the quad wheel tracks to spread the run down soil to avoid rutting. It might make it a bit wide though. I remember the Overum Tive 6m Suffolk coulter seed drill of the 1980s had 4 wheels with the rear 2 set inside the front outer 2, so it should pull straight. What do you think? Direct e-mail address [email protected]

We have used this setup for 10 years or so now, and never had to repair it, even though it is used on subsoiled osr which used to be a lot rougher than it is now. The back wheels had used to steer when the axle was on a trailed sprayer, but was not too successful. The whole thing is very lightweight and simple, so rutting is never a concern. The wheels are set wider than the quad bike so not to run on the same footprint.

I made this bracket to bolt on top of the sheep snacker as they are not used at the same time of the year. I must admit I haven't used it yet but if I need more weight I could always fill the snacker up.
