Last year a woman bought a Lab puppy from us, present Mrs C did the usual interviews to make sure she was a suitable owner etc. Collected pup paid and gone: but within two hrs she returned with the pup to say it gave her bad Asthma? We took the pup back, gave her our sympathy and refunded her money. She kept in touch with us all year until we had another litter, as she was now in good health and could manage another puppy and her children were agreed. Fast forward to last weekend. She collected and paid for another puppy, after making three visits to choose the one she wanted. You guessed!
She returned pup next day after dark, saying her children did not want to clean up after it, her Asthma had returned and she drove off. WTF!! Now of course she wants her full money back. I am saying as it was her choice to return a top quality healthy pup, knowing full well what she was doing when taking it on. So she is not getting a refund this time. Am I right? BTW: No problem finding a good home for the pup as we have a waiting list.

1) Five dispersal sales on the same day.

2) I choose the that has the second worst catalogue, on the assumption that the heavy hitters will be at the 'better' sales. I choose wrong and come home with a poxy sodding roller (n)

What a waste of a Saturday :(
It could have been worse! You could have gone to a well supported sale and come home with an EXPENSIVE poxy sodding roller.

Has anyone successfully sued a solicitor?
The slowest one in (where we used to live) has taken 15 years to settle the estate of a relative. First grumble. 15 f**king years! :banghead:

The final balance of the estate includes a cheque for the beneficiary, less an amount already paid as interim payment. We've looked in the last 15 years' bank statements and no cheque has been cleared / received in that time. Let's be kind and call it an oversight. :banghead::banghead:

And they have the f**king nerve to deduct an amount in multiple thousands as their fee for providing this prompt and efficient service. :banghead::banghead:

It's a good job they're a large number of miles away of I'd be going there and causing a scene.

I had enough of the person in charge several years ago and shared my opinion then, now it is getting even more ridiculous. :censored::censored::censored:

Does anyone actually know of a solicitor who isn't completely incompetent?

If any business service needs closer regulating it has to be law firms. In our experience they seem to be able to get away with breath taking incompetence, if we did not do most of the research for them nothing would get done. Often having to re negotiate their fees and point out errors. The usual response is "Ah, Mr or Ms whoever, who was dealing with your case has left the firm, can we start again":mad:
They do however seem highly skilled at recording every last minute of phone calls, even if it is us telling them what to do.

No, it cannot be done. And the type of solicitor who would sue another solicitor isnt the kind of person you would want to employ. If they are bobbins, then SRA complaint is the way to go as they have proper, big teeth.

Yes, I am married to her. If you need a solicitor for probate, trust and private client work then I am happy to provide details. I dont think she has a TFF discount rate though.

Do they not have a professional body you can take it up with like an ombudsman or similar
