here's one for you, driving to maize harvesting the other day in mx135 14tonne trailer and went through village with 30 limit. The geriatric speed police were out and driving back in the afternoon they were still there, i even throttled back to 21mph, gave them a look as they pointed bloody gun at me . 2 weeks later letter turns up saying i have been reported for breaking the speed limit ! have a hard job as the tractor only does 26 mph checked with gps speedo

Often wondered the effect on gearing whilst going oversized on tyres. Followed a 6290 the other day doing what appeared to be 30 MPH on my uncalibrated speedo - it was probably meant to do around 25-26 on 18.4's.

If by 'geriatric speed police' you mean a bunch of local OAP busy bodies with nothing better to do than stand at the side of the road in hi-viz vests pointing some speed gun they've bought off the internet at you, then chuck the letter in the bin. They can report what they like to the police, their speed gun would not have be officially calibrated, they have no training in its use, and any speed recorded would be worthless as evidence in court.

Why on earth would you throttle back to 21mph?? Or was it because you had no faith in your speed readings and didn't actually know how fast you were going? Un-calibrated measuring devices are no better than no measuring device when it comes to the law. But as @Goweresque has said, this applies to the speed gun pointed at you as well.

This is the truth, bin it and forget about it.

PS if it’s raining and you’re bored you could write a letter to whoever sent you the letter, it’s probably from the police as I don’t think they’re allowed to give out your details, pointing out that your tractor was only doing 21 mph and 26 as an absolute max so their equipment must be faulty. Could they please issue a letter of apology to all the other innocent drivers.

A lot of tractors are capable of doing 50kph(32mph)

I don't think 32x32 dynashift had 50k option but someone that knows more will tell us I'm sure
My 6270 Will Do 30 Mph Or So The Copper Said After He Pulled Me In
It is on 20.8 tyres

I've had many police cars both normal plod and traffic behind me when I been doing about 34, think they would rather we shifted along (provided we didn't go over 30 in a 30) than caused huge tailbacks doing 25.
