Gps Auto Steer problem

Hi we have a Case Puma with new soft where and screen, steering all built in, tractors only a year old. Having trouble with it not steering straight as in a bit of a wiggly line on a straight run if you know what I mean? It did work fine. Drill is on the linkage, we have altered aggressiveness etc to no avail. What could the fault be or has anyone had similar problems or a fault with say the nav controller or something else? Thanks

We did alter the pgain as well. It was on 7 and case engineer said alter it to 4 but it was still just as bad. He is coming to have a look tomorrow mid morning. The only bit that is old on it is the nav controller, which has come off our 2007 combine and that bit won't be under warranty everything else will.

I had to raise the pgain on my Puma with 750 screen to stop it wandering aimlessly.

I had this on my 185, started as a wiggle in first year so lots of visits under warranty with software after software update including screen and nav, year two it was almost unusable at times but had its better days. It took a young lad who was sent out to “not leave until sorted” came out from a larger branch of Doe, he was waiting on advice and was bored so took some wiring off to the already replaced and tested steering sensors, wire was pinched and not enough amps passing at times so computer went into silly mode. It wasn’t sorted until it’s 3rd drilling season on the farm!! Signal and software always blamed but it was just a wire!!! I was there when he found it, very hard to see but hats off to him.

Had the same issue on our 2014 230Puma, if you was busting, discing etc seemed ok soon as put it on the drill it would be in the right place like width and swath wise but it would leave it all wiggly continuously altering left and right.
Our dealer said put pgain on 9 and d gain on 90, did work for a few days then it started slowly getting worse. That was on Rangepoint rtx so we upgraded to centrepoint rtx thinking it could be satalite related but was still the same outcome!

In the end i found it was best with pgain on 12/14, agressivness on 50-65 an dgain on 0

Hope this helps!

Thanks for replies so far, the work shop manager from Startins came out and loaded software updates on but still not right. I do run a 6m front press on the tractor when drilling but I explained to him this is not the problem as it used to work fine with before and we had it steering far worse in one field without the press on. He is now going to bring a new nav controller as ours is 2007 off the combine. I'm hoping its not this causing the problem!? Doubt it? Haven't asked how much they are yet!

This all sounds far too familiar to when mine was being ‘sorted’

I did mention to him about the problem on yours and how long it took to sort. He checked wires and said voltage was fine but yours was amps? They will have to sort, I don't think it would be the nav controller but then what do I know?

We had a new nav controller, 2 steering sensors, all the wiring for the guidance replaced. It was a on going problem from day 1 and 3 years, 4300hours later the tractor is now sold and still wasnt sorted when we had it. We always said could be the 372 box on the roof but dealer never managed to get there hands on one to try it out.
Safe to safe it got traded in to a different brand and now no more gps problems with the new tractor!

Which brand have you gone too, have you had long enough to get to grips with it? How does it compare to the case AFS, forgetting the problems you had with the Case.
