The archeological aspect is the driving force being used in the original post/(my case)
NE insisting that I prove a negative ie that there is no adverse archeological impact from my farming on fictitious archeology.
Ostensively there is no habitat,botanical or natural history interest just archeology but English Heritage are not interested just NE and a DEvon county archaeologist who has visited the farm once for 30 mins.!

Yes, they have already received details of inputs, but insist that they also require the archeological survey. The opportunity for a reseed has now long passed for the time being.

Sorry, I hadn't picked up on the archaeological reference. Are there not maps of ancient monuments and such like available through CADW? I know my Glastir Advanced manager contacted them to see what was about (& potentially scoring points) on our farm.

Assuming you've got a solicitor representing you with the appeal I'd just pass the letter onto them to deal with.

They do seem pretty determined though (n)
