Greenstar ATU 200 on Challenger MT765B

We have just brought a Challenger MT765B with the Greenstar ATU, 2600 screen and 3000 dome already fitted.

I'm having trouble getting the guidance to work on Straight Track mode. I can get the pie 3/4 full of blue just struggling to get the Autotrac to be enabled when on an A-B.

I'm probably missing something very simple but any ideas/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the help @Heathland @Db880 we have only had it a week and it was the first opportunity to get on the land. I never even realised there was a touch-sensitive strip on the wheel, let alone it being the switch for turning on the guidance.

It is a relatively easy process to convert it onto another switch that can be placed elsewher?

Yes it should be,It depends on the loom you have got,but there should be a plug on the loom to clip in a remote switch, which you can either mount some where on the console or it also comes with a little mounting box.
Hope that helps(y)

You can get a switch that connects into the loom or as we have done is cut the switch off and wire up a foot switch which works really well.

you get an adaptor from JD dealer that plugs into the loom, this comes with a switch included but you can replace the switch with the foot pedal and then position this on the cab floor where you feel most comfortable with it, ours is lose so it can be moved to suit each driver and be put to aside when on the road.

Sorry to appears like, but if your tractor is green star ready then why do you need an atu steering wheel. If the tractor is not steering ready then you need a different loom with a plug connection for the atu steering wheel

I am sorry, don't know all the little different things. There is a plug for green star antenna, plug for display, but no hydraulic valve that's for sure. Unless somebody used the system without need for steering. So could anyone tell me what additional wiring should i get to make it work. Thanks

On a auto trac ready tractor there should be a socket on the corner post in the cab, this needs a cable to connect to the screen and there should be a cable to connect to the receiver in the cab roof. If you have non of these then you need a loom that connects all three. Your local JD dealer will have one.

If you read my post a bit above i say there that there is a plug for green star antenna and a plug for display. I can ger display up and running.

However, there are no sockets left in the display and no loose ends in the loom, so what do i do:)

Try to select English as a language, the top box is farm or business, next 2 boxes do farm and field. 4th box does line type. E g straight. Select new line and set the above. Then drop points A and B. Then select steering on. There will be a help sheet on the net somewhere or ask dealer for one.

If you have no steering valve and would like to use a ATU 200
you need the cable that comes with The ATU

it has a round plug that connects to the ATU and then have 2 four pin connectors and 2 2 pin connectors about 6 foot long
you then tee them in the can bus plugs which are joinned together behind the the fuse panel "2 4 pin connectors already joinned"
Then on the 2 pin connector put a power and earth to it

JOB done

I used to have a lot of wires in my first green star ready tractor, but it cut it off and don't know where i put it :( anyways, not quite sure where to look for those connections that 4 pin connectors should go to. But will inspect the tractor in more detail. By the way, the seat has 2 separate wires, I understand one is for power supply, but maybe the other is for operator's presence?

anyone knows how much is atu 200 brand new? Thinking to buy second hand, but wiring looms aren't cheap of one is not included...

Yes that point A is the connection
On a 6920 it's in the fuse box area have a hunt

The there is a operator seat switch wire as well which is just a signal to stop the ATu timing out

PM you
