Crystal Farm Software

Evening,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice/opinions on crystal as we currently have interherd but my herdsman keeps banging on about crystal. How easy is it to access vet records etc and will i get much more out of the software than interherd already gives me?

Much appreciated. Thanks

Having mine upgraded end of Feb. But it does sound quite good if what they say is true. Apparently the vet can look at it too over the internet if you can get it connected.

Does Crystal link up well with Interherd? I'm having Crystal put in next month. Am told it synchronizes well with Uniform Agri but will see.

I have had crystal for 15 years and interherd for about 8 years. Had crystal upgraded about 5 years ago when we installed in parlour feeders. Crystal will talk to interherd but not the other way around which results in me doing double data entry for services, calving and drying off.
Basically crystal drives the parlour , segregation and feeding snd interherd does all bcms, medicines and analysis. Thinking of moving to uniform agri as seem to have stagnated with interherd developments.

Crystal seems a bit of a dinosaur of a program, have had it 2 years and isnt as easy to navigate as other programs, run interherd alongside it like rusty and had to pay 500quid to get them to talk to each other which was ridiclous. Moving to uniform as again, like rusty said Interherd seems to have ground to a halt. Put the minimum data i can in crystal and use interherd as the main program. Personally i would keep away from Crystal unless you need it for your parlour.

Just updated our fullwood Parlour, have now got crystal, going from everything being hand written in diary’s I wouldn’t look back. All vet meds services, dose everything you’d want it too. Links to the parlour and comes up with yields and everything. Now iv got my head around it it’s more simple to use than I first thought. We link with Nmr, very simple and easy. Thumbs up from me

Is it possible to get an all in one vet list on crystal i.e odd and non bullets on one list? I seem to have to print off individual reports?

We have crystal to run our parlour, and use it to cross check orchid which we use for BCMS and history. Crystal is good if you learn to program the reports. You can (in theory) get it to report any of the data you have inputed into it.(But don't ask me to show you how!
