Tomorrow afternoon doesn't look good here.

Since cleaning out the dykes last autumn, today was the first time it was really dry enough to spread the spoil without sinking in. Id hoped for another couple of dry days to get the dyke headlands ploughed and drilled but that now looks a bit iffy. Have drilled the main part of the fields, just not the dyke sides.

Well what do we do now? The temperature is expected to feel like below 4 deg ( bulk tank temperature ) by Thursday and days of showers ahead. Cows have been in since mid July , and should have been in much earlier but we hadn't made any first cut by then.

A 'like' because there isn't a 'sympathise' button.

Steady rain here all day since 9 am, put paid to any cultivating or even ploughing. Was hoping to get everything ploughed this week and even sow some barley; will take at least a couple of days to be dry enough to travel on furrows now! Doesn’t look too good for Friday here either.

Started raining here about 2 ish, was halfway through drilling a small 3hct. Sugar beet field, drilled headlands first because of shape of field and to conserve seed . Will not be returning for a day or two now .
Wind died away and is steady rain now . Farming online has just short of 10 mm for us before morning.
Nuisance on the one hand but welcome on the spring barleys and any unworked late ploughed land. Sympathy to those that had just started to dry up a bit and now going the other way again.

Nice morning, wouldn't know we had had over 10mm. Puddles almost gone and concrete 20% dry, there was enough heat in the ground after this last weeks dry weather to absorb it

Got persisted on walking home yesterday, got rained on on my training run & today looks about the same.

Just listening to the Nine Inch Nails to cheer myself up. :)
