Turned out pretty well after all
It felt pretty crazy reversing around a 5 acre field (paddock) driving over and squashing plants whilst topping the jungle of weeds.However I think on balance it saved what was there and made it worthwhile not ripping it up and starting again.
Really struggled with this crop,would not like to repeat it.
Getting some use out of this today.
Putting in this overseeding mix.
Oliver seed mix.

Was a rush this morning so didn’t bother calibrating after we did it with some patching seed when the drill was delivered.
It probably took about 12kg per acre,was aiming for 10kg per acre.
First job after lunch now is to calibrate the drill with the overseeding mix to 10kg per acre then I’m going to run over 5 acres this afternoon as the rain band we expected this morning was no more than a shower and it has dried up nicely now.

Had been sprayed out for 2 days at that stage and had 2t lime/ha almost ready to graze now. Not a huge crop on the sides but good enough. Will get a pic

Bared off hard with sheep and cows I drilled it the 1st week of September with my Duncan renovator I’m more than pleased as is the customer.
Looking well considering the winter it’s had!!

Yes
Gemini Italian ryegrass 2kg
Tetraploid hybrid ryegrass 3kg
Our old mate Roy perennial ryegrass
3kg
Herbal perennial ryegrass 2kg
0.5 white clover blend
0.5 Paradana ‘balansa’ clover.
11kg per acre
Always try to use tetraploid varieties in an overseeding mix if possible.
This is a Hurrells mix I have similar mixes too.
