It took a while, lots of mucking around on Ebay getting mysteriously outbid by people with 0 feedback etc., but eventually I bought my very own set of zig zags off a local farmer:

This bang-up-to-date ensemble is sowing soyabeans on a wide row spacing (alternate coulters are blocked out on the drill) and undersowing with yellow trefoil using the Stocks Fanjet on the front. I still haven't got the front links working on the 3050, but lashed something up with some chains etc. to fix it there.

And for @Farmer Roy

Do u know for all the modern outfits costing umpteen thousands, I bet they struggle to place seed and do as tidy of a job as your set up.

And why you not using wheel eradicators new Puritan? You must be so happy to do 2 things in one pass.

Good question. The ground was travelling pretty well and they didn't seem necessary, really. It had just rained and the top half inch was damp (hence the amount of soil stuck to the wheels) but below was firm. And I know - doing 3 things in one pass actually, which would have taken 3 passes two years ago, in a tractor that was far less comfortable. This is what progress looks like here - i.e. using a 27 year old tractor with an implement on the back that was possibly horse drawn when it first came in.

Ha - that's very kind of you, but there is still (plenty) of room for driver error!

Can i just advise you alter the draw bar to get the drill level, or it will tend to put front coulters in deeper than the rears, moving the bolt on bit one way or another will do it.

Dad used to have a 13 coulter on those small wheels.

Love the big ode Zetors there is just something about them (y)

Fond of them myself. I used to have a purple Ursus 385 as well , but sold it shortly after buying a 06 Zetor 10641 2 1/2 years ago.

I have always loved the super q Fords , especially 7810 or 7610 such as @Vincent is using. What sort of hours are on either of them?

The 76 has 7500 showing but it may have more, and the 7810 has 9850 this I think is genuine I have it since 04. The 78 is supposed to be the first sold in Ireland. I bale and plough with it mostly.
@jf850 I had an 8011 here before to on a hedge cutter. What boards are on that plough you use.
