I have absolutely no position of decision-making or authority in the management of DF, and don't wish to have. A job for better men and women. I have always spoken as a member. Behind doors I have also always spoken my mind to the board as a member. Fortunate to have a board that openly invites member's views on a regular basis. You have your wires crossed.

For the record, if you can find where I sniped about winter bonuses, I'll happily defer to you on that. As it happens, I can't recall a time when I disagreed with a winter bonus. In fact I called for DF to do it, as I felt that the signal of local seasonal supply had become overshadowed by global trends in the post EU market management environment. Others here have been very vocal about their opposition to winter bonuses. Talk to them about it. I'm still far from convinced about fixed price contracts, whether DF does it or another buyer, and I've said so.

Bonuses are deployed to created differentiation between various categories - be that type of milk, timing of supply, status of supplier and so on. Let's be open here. What does the Lakeland price really mean? After all, it doesn't create differentiation - so what is it's purpose?

Show quieter today I thought. Must be a lot at silage. Enjoyed it as usual but the price is really starting to put me off. I had a real gripe with the £8 car parking. The number of unnecessary stewards standing about was ridiculous. We had 2 standing outside our car smoking once they had positioned us in to park.

What's it like getting help on the farm. I want someone for odd days and Saturdays. Nearly impossible. Had a chap say he'd come in the train and come the rest of the way on a bike. He then said I was too far from the station. There's only one other farm between me and the town. Where did he think the farm was......in the town hall

It’s not easy to find good people Z. Why a lot of people look to robots. Is the farm between you and the toon a big farm? they might know of someone looking work.

Trying to get weekend milkers is getting harder, that’s before even getting into reliability and actual work capability

Everyone gets it. So it's a way of raising the base, without raising the base. If you see what I mean. o_O. Or it could be a way of lowering the base, without lowering the price. :scratchhead: If anyone has figured it out, they haven't said yet.
