hi all,
I’m rebuilding my old 1990 CR motox bike and I’m after one of the above for cleaning the crank cases barrel and carb etc. Has anyone got one? sellers they would recommend? I’m guessing it’s the old get what you pay for job but if no experience with one. Found a 10l one on eBay thoughts please

Had a cheap and cheerful one for degreasing and cleansing electronics, they are great pieces of kit. Can't see this one being any different.

I got a small one for jewellery bits for the Mrs which works well. For your purposes I would recommend heating (which your link has) and that it is actually big enough because the items have to fit in the basket and not the 10litre tank. So get the basket size which is more important. Also check it will sustain a long enough cycle as you may need an hour or two on cruddy parts.

On my third one now, first two were cheapies this one is a bit bigger and has a heater.
Get the best quality you can afford, i just use water with a dash of fairy liquid in mine and they are great for carbs and complicated castings you cant get into.

I wouldn't use an ultrasonic for cleaning engine parts, ideal for doing carbs etc, but I don't think they do a very good job of removing built up grease etc.

Hot pressure washer would be my choice.

Or your local engine rebuilder may have a hot parts wash tank, these are excellent.

Do you know how to use the washing machine too?

Think I would get shot if I tried using the dishwasher for anything other than crockery!

You do it when she's out, obviously. Same as soaking a cylinder head in the bath.

Women always know when you've done something like that - boy did I cop a packet for daring to put clothes with a bit of diesel on in the washing machine - apparently it could be smelt for weeks after.
