So dropped my phone in the bath last night!:shy::bag:

Went to Carphone warehouse this morning and all above board same model, gb but theres no black instock. I specifically choose that as I don't like the white front, I've gone ahead with it as the speaker no longer works but not happy. Anyone had past experience or what I could/should do?

Thanks Lee

Had migraine/sick feeling last few days, got silage and sheeted down yesterday so finished early chilled out in the bath.

Who is the insurance with and did they give you the option of waiting for a black (space grey?) one?
Geek squad (presume their own?), they did but I would be without a phone I asked if they do a loan phone whilst I waited but not an option.

Interesting one this. What model iPhone was it?

My 5S decided to stop charging last night when flat. Had it 2.5 years which I was a little disappointed with (last iPhone 4 did 5yrs). Anyhoo, ordered an SE last night for collection tomorrow.

Handset cost worked out at £10/month or so over its life. Hardly worth insurance at that. Have a family policy we pay £10/month for that includes phones.....but iPhone is £50 excess for repairs and takes a week to send/return so a bit of a pain.

Carphone warehouse directed me to the apple store in Exeter recently. They swapped it over there and then.

Great service!

Trouble with many insurances is the excess of £50-100 on top of annual cover of £100-150 means:

a) if you claim in the first year it costs you £150-250 all in (insurance and excess)
b) if you don't claim, it still costs you £100-150.

I think insurance is a MUST if you're taking a new top end phone each year from your network.....but SIM free users who keep their phone more than a year are better to self-insure.

You're probably right as I've had it two and half years without a need to claim, but when I got it I paid more to get more storage space so wanted peace of mind.

Getting to the stage where I'm where I'm not fussed about upgrading, so a new of the same should do me a good few years.

You're probably right @Jerry when I got home made contact and complained so will see how that pans out, also got an appointment Monday in the Apple store for something else and will run it by them.

Don't tell him that! He'll be paranoid with his replacement....and wish he'd had a more recent model!
Not particularly worried now I've rinsed enough money on getting the newest/hottest phone over the years, my contract ended 9 months ago and I've got a plan nearly of what I was paying and 4 times as much data allowance.

Does seem a good feature, mine coped pretty well didn't faff drying it in rice etc. just dried it off and hair dried the the holes. Phone works fine but have no sound.
