Is it worth the hassle?

RPA plans are wrong, they have joined fields together where they arn`t,and split a field that isn`t.I have sent 2 RLE1 forms in already where they have given me a neighbours field and another for missing hedges. Is it going to be worth more Hassle to send another RLE1 form in with plans of correct boundaries or not bother and just carry on with how the useless fec*******ers at RPA have got it. Not altered total acreage (well,Knocked another couple of tenths of a hec off (will have no farm left in a few years at this rate) ). what are you people doing?. just thinking the more forms I send in ,the further back in the payment que I will be(n)

However incompetent they are, we must remain eternally grateful (says Walter). It’s no use being critical; that might lead to improvements in services.

If they inspect you will get a delay
If you leave it but have not over claimed on eligable land the penalty will be very small if any
They inspect at random only a few percent or sometimes triggered by being notified of rule breaking footpaths

So do nothing the agents I talk to are doing the minimum rle1s
If we all did every rle1 we could the rpa would have no hope ofmeeting their deadlines
Next year after brexit the Rpa will not have the threat of massive fines from the Eu so will not need to be so finicky with those that try their best to claim the right amount

The problem is the people at the top not having to develop a system that works for their operatives and farmers that all concerned can follow easily
If they lost their jobs when things do not work they would get it right the system failure goes back decades but they do not learn from last time mistakes

I have just the left the hedges as the RPA think they are and claimed on those that actually do exist.

I'd be submitting about a dozen RLE 1 forms to put them and some other errors right such as verges being declared as parcels of permanent pasture, which I ignore.

I feel that as long as I haven't claimed on anything that doesn't exist then I can't be blamed. The RPA map is getting further and further away from reality but so are the RPA and those in charge of it. Using automatic updates from satellite imagery ( which it what seems to have happened) was just about the worst idea they ever had. It's getting down to the point where each bush will soon need a tag or something the way they are going.

Hedges are already protected by the planning system anyway. I can't see why they were ever included in the CAP at all. In reality most are a nuisance anyway, produce nothing, cost money to maintain, harbour vermin, cause punctures and make stock lame. But that's the sorry state we are in.

Tricky, isn't it. You have to try and get it right, because if there's an inspection, it'll be your fault they got it wrong......

After trying to rectify a mistake ( part of the garden is included as a field ) for 15 years, and failed, I just record the piece of land in question as not in ag use. Hope this will suffice.

That's the sort of thing we do. We don't claim on it all either to leave a bit of room for error. I generally claim about a hectare less then what I am entitled to.

In our experience you still get a fine even if it's right at the inspection so there is no real incentive to actually bother. For me it's just make it as right as it can be but as I am not claiming for hedges for EFA I am not bothering to fix any of it them on the maps

Yes, I quite agree.

Don`t think I will bother sending another rle1 in then. Just put parts a and b and c on my claim form next year. And ,yes, they have claimed my garden is another field but not eligible to claim on:facepalm:
