They quoted me 5.3 today for a 1 year contract for 45kw solar system but I think the guaranteed minimum increased in april to 5.24 and any rocs etc would have some value on top of that so they are not being that generous.

Opus standard renewal offer 5.1p, upped to 5.5, then 5.9.
F&S 6.4p
Limejump 6.9p

So have left Opus after excellent service and hope that Limejump goes as well as others have reported.

Has anyone got any recent comparables for this, please? Currently with Opus and their offer isn't very attractive at present.

Many thanks

As it happens, I've just been sorting out a mistake with my transfer over. I had agreed to go onto a tracker price, but the market has moved and Limejump can now fix at 7.6p (well, 6.6 of that is fixed, rest is benefits), so I'm locking in at that.

just so those of you with opus are aware , if they send you a renewal letter 2 months before your contract is due to end , ACT ON IT !!!!

if you dont 30 days later still with 1 month of your current contract left they they will lock you in to the offer price they sent you automatically as said 30 days before your contract actually expires.

quite by chance i had been speaking with opus about import contract Renewal 2 weeks before my letter arrived and that prompted me to ask for a PPA quote , it was not that good so I asked limejump and agreed with them for export , so limejump applied to opus to take the export power over at the end of the contract period but opus refused quoting that i had not responded to their offer so was locked in .
I was only saved from the year tie in because the offer i received 2 weeks before the official " tie in letter" was received made no mention if any tie in and was the standard sign this before 4.30 to accept sort of offer, when i pointed this out they backed down.
But opus meant business and I got the distinct impression that there Modus operandi was "offer low and tie in" To be fair to OPUS when i went back and read the letter did clearly state that i had to respond within 30 days but as i had already received an offer I did not read it in detail , assuming it was a notification of the contract ending .

I was very disappointed in opus for the tactics , they started out as one of the good guys fighting the big power companies , but the tactics now see like they are one of them , I would not be surprised if they are readying themselves for a sale to one of the larger power companies , and tying to better the margins ahead of that .

Agree with you re Opus. Used to be a good company but they seem out to shaft us small renewable generators. Shop around export prices are still on the rise

This happened to me as well. I was with Opus and trying to change to Limejump.
Opus rejected the contract switch to Limejump and I was locked in for 12 more months with Opus on a lower fixed price.
As it happened the price difference between Limejump and was small and I wasnt going to loose much money so I didn't fight it very hard.
It left a very sour taste with me and after the 12 months I moved both arrays away from Opus after being with them for 4 years.

If you get a renewal notice from Opus and you're not sure about taking it up you should email them ASAP telling them not to auto renew you!!

This is dodgy car insurance renewal tactics and it stinks!

Morning

My PPA renewal paperwork from Opus has just arrived at 5.8p. I have never heard of F&S or Limejump, have people that have swapped had any issues?

If you swap (I have been with Opus since staring to export) does the new company pay the feed in tariff, or would Opus still pay that?

Do you then need another provider for import?

Thanks

I have just swapped to F&S . It is not neccesary to change the FIT provider, I have left that with OPUS
Obviously your meter operator needs informing to send the info to the new company.
You need to inform OPUS that you are changing. My changeover was done through an intermediary but as it only happened last month I am not yet certain it is complete so a matter of fingers crossed.

You can just leave your FIT payments with Opus. They are legally obliged to keep processing the FIT for you, regardless of you moving your import/export contracts elsewhere.

You can switch to another provider for your FIT payments if you like but I don't see the point. Opus process A LOT of FIT's and in my experience they are quite good at it!

There are other processors pay a lot quicker though
