did you vote leave?....i did...but beginning to think like you

Yes I did vote leave, but the whole process has been nothing but disorganised confusion. It has split the country and brought uncertainty. We are slowly seeing big companies setting up back up plans to move factories and headquarters. The best European workers are leaving, I have seen this first hand.

What have we got to gain from all this?....nothing. We still won't be in full control of our country, the laws won't see much amendment.

Whilst I loath Rees-Mogg, you do get the feeding that his statement, the UK will become a vassal state is slowly gaining truth.:yuck:

Apparently the wartime generation (over 80's) mostly voted remain. Presumably they are more aware of the consequences of a divided Europe.:scratchhead:

Hi, yes, my apologies, I do recall seeing / hearing that the over 80s having been in WW2 and remembering WW1 were in favour of a united Europe. So I suppose should have said the baby boomers voted Leave to have immigrant bum wipers! Probably correct as (and I am one) that generation seem to have everything and do not want to share their good fortune. Disappoints me that my children 19 and 23 have now lost freedom to travel and work if they wish throughout EU. Hey ho.

Opportunity to forge free trade deals with non EU countries that BJ and LF have identified as growth markets. I can see the logic. But am waiting to see what happens in practice. And we should as a country have more cash provided UK economy drives forward at require growth rate. And we get to control immigration. So I have been listening. As I said to several friends / colleagues at the time of the referendum I reserved judgement on success of leaving as we will not know for at least five more like 10 and probably 20 years after leaving whether on all or any of those counts it was correct decision. Hey ho.

Some good democratic progress today. Good job my MP has a solid majority as she won't be getting my vote ever again.
I think a lot of mp could be in the same position come the next election especially in the labour heartland

I have just been reading about Airbus Industrie press statement. Is everyone happy to lose this manufacturing business. Or is this more Project fear or reality?.

Don’t worry about it. It’s only 14k jobs. When Brexit becomes Brexit, there will be oodles of new trade deals with such luminary markets as Botswana, Burundi, Argentina (currency will need to be weighed instead of counted), Chile, etc, etc, ...

Its only scaremongering. Like many others in project fear, they are saying they 'might' leave.

However, others are actually coming already (and the reason Ashtree is so worried).

The local papers are all carrying this story, but strangely the BBC are not......

It was mentioned on the main BBC NI news site the other day, but not there now, one has to search for it.

Congratulstions. It’s always nice when a new company sets up.
The net effect of those companies who will set up in UK to serve UK market, vis a vis those large companies in UK to serve the EU market who will pull out, will I dare say be but a drop in the ocean!

Don’t you worry sometimes about the Brexiteer disciples who apportion blame for all and sundry on the main stream media!!! This was on BBC news.

I check in on the Belfast Telegraph myself. Good reporting I must say.
