I've a 21 year old fastrac never breaks down 6900 hours. Currently sat in a field being used to scare crows.

Apologies if I offended anyone the weather's getting on my tits. But as I always tell others no point worrying about things you've no control over.

Just
Are you not having great weather ? beautiful down here.

It's fantastic. Blowing a gale and 24 degrees. Just not very conducive to grass growth.

Not rubbing it in but rain here 4 of the last 7 days. Nothing torrential, but enough for a good soaking.

The earthy smell which hung with the first shower was the best thing smell i've breathed in, in a while!

I hope it changes for you soon.

I've run Deutz now for a long time. I have 115 and 165 mrk 3 and TTV 430. I have recently added a Case puma 195 to the fleet as I couldn't find the Deutz I wanted/ could afford. When I do it'll go.

I have always found Deutz to be best value for money, very good on fuel and reliability. I have 11500 hrs on the 115 and 9500 on the 165. Keep thinking I need to do something to upgrade but they keep on going with very little expense.

The TTV 430 I bought 3 years ago. It is a 12 plate and had 1200hrs on it. It came with a loader, front lincs, 6 electric spools, power beyond, I monitor, 50k, vario gear box, 650 tyres which with only 1200 hrs on it were brand new. All the rest of bells on whistles for £37000. It's been fantastic so far as well.

Deutz are not for everyone and that suits me! Means when a great deal comes along I can grab it as they look down their noses at it and me :sneaky:(y)

This is a very good point. I’ve tried/heard of issues with the McCormick but that could be owner/driver related. The duetz should be an outstanding machine!

I was “thinking” about start looking for a replacement for my tractor and I was thinking 6420S/6430. Both were over £30k!! I don’t think they cost that new, I remember a top spec (50k, AP, FL/PTO) 6930 in 2007 was £45k to pay brand new.
In 2007 a 6430 premium 40kph with TLS, FL & creeper was £39,500, and within less than a year the same tractor was 41 grand.

Makes your high spec 6930 sound very cheap at 45

These old tractors that never break down aren't really doing a lot of hours are they?

I find ours don't break down either when sat doing nothing.
8340 does 1000hrs a year and hasn't cost a fortune in repairs. I know of a man doing similar hours per year says you have to buy the 80k tractor to get the reliability.

But they love to leak!
Second rear tube, I did the same job on the other side on the 13th of July last year :banghead:
Other than being tight to work on, and hydraulic lines designed by chimpanzees, bloody good old tub.

1992, 8145 hours. :)

Some of the features: 4 wheel brakes, 4 pto speeds, creeper gears and lightweight, not to mention the turning circle.... actually it's really difficult to find something to replace it, that isn't a backward step.

I only wish they'd kept evolving these four-pot ones  I would even put up with liquid cooling if the basic recipe was the same - there really isn't much to fault the basic design on.
And a proper fuel miser, too, I topped up my tank this afternoon after 25 hours and used less than 75 litres, just on silage and scraping as is winter duty.

Where they really shine is on a hill, there are few places you can go with duals and not feel safe.
Any other tractor though
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:
not a hope - too heavy, too tall, too useless.
