I’m not against goodwill at all....far from it. But i also think it strange that it’s almost accepted practice to knowingly take off not knowing whose property you will land on. If you were landing at an airport there would be a set fee, plus surely you’d need to book a slot?

The pilot claimed there was a NFU negotiated price of £30. I told him he'd have to wait until tomorrow for that and today's special price was double, but settled on £50.
I think you can register landing charges somewhere or somehow and that would be binding.

Couldn't agree more and £50 sounds reasonable to me.

Brief let up in the rain, turning up some straw which is not as good as it looked a week ago.

Then a change of turner and back to being ted.

Cut late due to environmental constraints and not anywhere near my worst bit - which I tedded next.

The full horror of that will be revealed another day when the phone battery isn't run out.

Please double check the door catch if you have passengers in the tractor, locally we have had a few accidents. Where, for whatever reason the door opened and the passenger fell out while the tractor was traveling on the road.

Frightening stuff and can be fatal

Straw didn't dry out enough to bale so alternative excitement had to be found.

Pilot holes for fence posts with the water jet, NB the best bit of aftermath on the farm, mostly blackgrass.

gentle push in to the rock-hard clay subsoil.

Then load 1 (only some spilled hay from the feed trailer just to get rid of it) of what I suspect will be scores of loads of FYM in the next few weeks.
