Cheale Meats in Brentwood - and possibly other branches nationwide, they used to organise collections in some areas away from Essex I understood but know not now.

Mine go direct of course it is almost my closest abattoir

C and K (also known as Lamberts) at Eye, Suffolk possibly do more cull sows than Cheales, on contract for Dawkins and exported to Germany. Get in quick before the B word happens!

I didn't realise our cull sows get exported, I'd have thought we eat enough sausages & pies in the UK, especially during the Summer.

How does the trade balance of processing pig meat stack up?

The FW is now reporting that, in the event of a no deal Breixt, a tariff of 45 pence per kg would apply to sows, which would cut the liveweight price to just 2 pence per kg.

I wouldn't know how the balance of trade for pig meat would compare, but when the abattoir that kills our pigs delivered last weeks back, they had boxes and boxes of Belgian pork on the lorry too.
As far as the tariff on sow meat goes, I sold a stock boar in the culls in Market Drayton about a month ago, 365 kgs @ 26p/kg! He wouldn't go for export, but there would potentially be a bill equal to my cheque if he did!
