Big like to that one @Farmer Roy . The Green party have press release saying similar & at the meeting I went to yesterday there was a speaker from the Wildlife trust that said their really worried about some of the statements that have come out about farming in the last couple of weeks ( mainly the climate change one ) & the true message of how we farm isn't coming across & they want to work with farmers to educate people where their food is coming from.

@Farmer Roy could you post that last post again in the Red meat & climate change thread, think alot would find that interesting ( not everybody comes down here in the basement to read posts!).

one step ahead of you (y)
I haven't bothered following that thread but I did copy that post into it when I put it here
( what I did see was usual suspects of climate change deniers & anti environmental bluster, so I didn't bother looking any further. Its ALL the fault of the Greens & scientists & lefties & tree huggers & vegans, don't you know . . . )

the Roo might scare some readers away :)

During this summer; ground we had earmarked for hay, we didn’t cut and grazed the standing crop. Now I’ve been told by many an “expert” that feeding seed to ruminants to sow doesn’t work :banghead: Just gone to pick some cattle hurdles up and all the pats resemble this... seems don’t need a drill now either:whistle:

I've been meaning to try this to spread some clover about so glad it looks like it's worked (y)
Looks like you have some grasses growing too what seeds did you feed them?

Well this year I started making paddocks at home but the spring was wet and poached 1up rather badly and the other three had a quick tour round by the cows which worked all right until mid June when it started to get hot and grass stopped growing. Split the herd in 2/3 -1/3and moved the small bunch on to some ground away which was like grass ready for hay making. By end of July started feeding or more correctly the Mrs had.
Me well I was laid up having just had as hip replaced. Well I had 6 weeks back at 'work' and now in hospital again. The good thing to see is where the small group of cows went, they trampled a lot of grass down but is the first to show any regrowth after the first meaningful rain 2 weeks ago. So as Del would say next year rodders.
