I have pm'd you but anyone considering these ought to do their research.

I couldn't help but feel there seemed to be a higher prevalence of health issues from the reading up i did. I may be completely wrong but it was the impression i got.

@nacnud have you encountered any issues?

Higher prevalence of issues in the breed in general or in show dogs? I know there may be hearing issues in some of them but I don’t see it any differently to hip issues in labradors or things like that. I don’t think there are any issues in any of our dog’s family, the parents of our original pup were spot on and the dog we mated to her were spot on too. We got the litter of pups vet checked and there no issues so I certainly haven’t experienced anything. The thing I have experienced is their selective hearing... when they decide to continue to do what they were told not to do but their hearing is very good otherwise!

They are pretty rare to find in general, especially working types. The only people I know that have them are the people I got our pup from, the dog we mated her to and the people that bought her pups!

I’ve had a number of people come to me and say can they reserve a pup the next time we have a litter which I have refused to do as it doesn’t sit right with me to be honest. If we decide to have another litter we will just advertise them as usual.

It's about time there was some sort of "club" or "society" (oh gawd, did I really say that?) to oversee genuine working dogs and their interests to counter the harm The Kennel Club is doing. Britain used to be where the world came for working dogs. Not any more. There is going to be an awful mess when this pandemic is over.

Well Said. A girl in the next village to us had a litter of second generation Cockerpoo puppies ~ seven of them and they sold at £3200 each - a fortnight after they were born. The lunacy of Covid-19.
