I humbly beg to differ.....Steevo.

If I wasn't in such a 'delicate' position, and wasn't incredibly dependant upon the outcome of over 18 months of total obfuscation and confusion by them, resulting in our accountant upon happening to overhear one of many many phone conversations with HMRC , putting them ' on the clock' for damages and costs, which combined with Ombudsman action, finally resolving an 'electronic tick in a box'....

(RPA are rank amateurs at technology and cockups compared to this lot!)

I might be inclined to 'have a bit of a rant'...........

I simply can't afford to now[emoji6]

Sorry to hear! Sounds miserable.

An accountant (not ours- old or new) has told her family not to do anything at all, as 'it won't happen'.
'It' being this making tax digital.

Can't say whether that's true or not, but with a crash out B word getting more likely, altering our VAT submmissions to a differnet platform will be the least of HMRC's worries when dealing with cross border VAT and exEU trading partners.

Did anyone see the report from an irate gentleman on the box this week, who'd had a secure cloud based storage for his many photos? They'd vanished and no one knew where they were or how to retrieve them.
I'm keeping my ledgers going at the moment, as back up as well as for comparison.

I have to agree - I would have thought that if they were serious about moving all 2.5 million VAT registered businesses to some sort of online auto submission system by next April there would have to have been massive publicity campaigns etc running for months by now. I wouldn't be surprised if when we get to the New Year an announcement is made postponing the whole thing for some considerably time.

Imagine the cost for just 2.5mil businesses.

That said, BCMS/BPS or such for many less people is just as bad if not worse!

When you scan a paper invoice with your Xero phone app, you have saved an image of it. Right?

But do you have to manually input the numbers or is it somehow able to read it?

Same with PDFs in different layouts. Does it read those too?
