TFF Parkrun Fiends...............

Done a 2.5k training run yesterday evening.........

The park is very dark, I need to take a torch.
:D:D
One of the reasons I like my little cycle path route, it's all lit up by street lights. Makes it much easier in the early morning/ late evening runs.

Seeing as Plymouth is more akin to Atlantis today, I decided to forgo the run this morning and get my taxes done.

... immediately regretted it and wished I'd bitten the bullet and gone for a swim instead!

My mini runner opted to stay in bed so I found a bit more pace this week. Moved from sub 40 to sub 30, next target sub 20 29

Made it round again.
Slowly (n)
:p:p

Some hero turned up looking to set a course record today. Give him his due, he seemed quick when he lapped me (on a two lap run :banghead:) but I heard him moaning at the end about what a slow course it was, (mostly wet, soft, grass) and he was half a minute off setting the record :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

When I checked the stats later, it turns out it's him who holds the fastest time from about a year ago

93 runners today.

I would only have to run twice as fast as today if I want to take the record :wtf: Over 500 runners, quite a sqeeze through the first half the course.

We had "fun" today!! Feckin council changed the locks on the "anti-pikey barrier" and never told us!!
And I was volunteering to help set up. :stop:
We had 3 choices..... cancel (not happening!) turn it into an obstacle race (deffo not happening!) or start the mob on the other side of the barrier......and tack the missing bit onto the end!! So we faffed about a lot and done some very rough measuring. :D
Anyway, the start was a bit of a squeeze (we had 335 participants) but it all worked out fine. I did hear some "pro`s" whining about "It might not be exact"....... they got the sharp end! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
29 minutes and 45 secs.....done too much walking before I ran it!!
Got home and measured it out.......... 20 metres short which was a minor miracle !!
Home, changed & down into the city for the 5000-1 Walk for Vichai........... got soaked and walked home....

26,000 steps today!! :eek::eek:

New course started up 10 miles away, but has 150 runners at the moment. My usual venue has 20-40.

The new course is level and flat, so I will go and smash my PB again once it quietens off a bit (y)

Training session Number 3............. some resistance work on an exercise bike then on to more "core" exercises. :(
Things like squats, lunges and leg extensions. Then it was on to floor work.
She insisted that I "work on the abs".... I don`t have "abs" I have a pleasant middle age survival ring!!:D:D
By the time it had finished I was sweating like good one & feeling sick.... no pain, no gain.
I told her I needed a picture for inspiration (and to share with you lot for group inspiration!) ...she sent me this from the gym this AM.

I had a fairly intense tug of war training last night. Our coach doesn't look at all like that. He's just as grizzled, ugly and hairy as the rest of us there!

@bovrill .... it can be slightly distracting. :)Especially when she grabs bit of you to ensure they are in the "right position".......... I never knew how to "tuck my tail bone under"..I do now.:eek::D

I've coached girls YFC tug of war teams for years, and one of the first things I tell them, along with saying I'll never swear or shout at them, is that I will manhandle them, often by their hips, during training to correct their position. No one's ever had a problem yet, but I appreciate that kneeling down and tugging their ankles can look weird!:sneaky:
