what happened to Farmcare

After Farmcare announced they were no longer going to be "active farmers" and put their land out to rent. What happened after that? Did someone like Velcourt just absorb it all, or did it get split amongst a "few", or did it just get scattered to the wind with neighbours taking on bits all over the place?

Farmcare still exist, they just don't do in hand farm management any more. The farms were put out to management tender. Bedfordia took on Stoughton and Lockwood Estates took on Louth Park Farms, for example.

ahh, that's what I was getting at. So large local farming companies just took on a block local to them. I'm guessing Stoughton and Louth park were their biggest land holding so everything else will have just been absorbed in a smaller way by other locals.....what about Goole? did they own that big estate at Goole?

Did farmcare used to be CWS, if so I thought Wellcome Trust bought them out?
Additionally, Was Knaptoft dairy part of their estate?

Knaptoft was a BOCM demo farm, but that was a VERY long time ago....

Do Wellcome Trust own the farms and rent or contract farm them? That would make sense if Down Ampney is farmed by Velcourt.

Looks like Stoughton Estate is up to rent. This will test the FBT rental values!

There will be quite a lot of land in the area looking for someone to farm it, as another fair sized operator not far away has changed the direction of his business and said 2021 will be his last harvest.
