Isn't that precisely why 'they' feel that we should all be educated in how to do it correctly?

It's unfortunate that these people who are educating us don't realise that it's a complete waste of time telling us what we already know. Surely the fools know that when we get home we just carry on as we've been doing for years without messing about working to rule like the tube drivers do.
If we worked to the ticket we just wouldn't get anything done. Sooner these people get real the better.

For sale 1 x CP30 knapsack with a large amount of spares, 2 x 5litre Roundup, 1 x Bee suit, 1x 12 pack wasp nest powder and various rat and mouse baits. Might as well let nature have everything back.

A pretty depressing attitude that will only further undermine all our abilities to access pesticides going forward.

Sorry to sound wet.

But we always measure every thing very carefully & follow all the rules. We sometimes don't calibrate but err on low dosing rather than over dosing.

Do general knapsacking but also inter row spraying through insect netting on culinary swedes using a hooded nozzle, carefully calibrated to use 500ml/ha of roundup to kill charlock at the 2 to 4 leaf stage.

What are new knapsacks like as a matter of interest ?
Every one I've owned has a leaky cap, letting chems driggle down your back. ( Modified mine with some thick plastic sheet under the cap )
It seems to me manufacturers can get away with selling shite, gardeners can do as they please, but Jonny Farmer has to fork out £600 for licences / certificates and jump through endless hoops.........
Got to be something wrong somewhere.

Only used round the yard/ buildings anyway. Reached the conclusion it's less hassle using a strimmer.

Oi !!! @7610 super q , got a strimmer licence ???

Cooper Peglar & not over filling.

Use blue dye to make sure there is no contamination of operator. Inside of gloves is a bigger problem than most realise. Using tractor sprayer was suprised how easily I contaminated myself. Just handling tractor door sometimes with gloves on sometimes without.

As one of these so called ‘fools’ you refer to, if you saw some of the antics that we see on a knapsack course and some other Pa courses for that matter then you’d know exactly why you have to do them!
It’s blatantly obvious that several people DO NOT know what they are doing despite repeated assurances that they do, some practices are seriously breaking the maximum legal dose rate but obviously that’s ok because it’s only a knapsack and ‘we know what we’re doing’.
The attitude shown by some is the reason that the agricultural industry gets subjected to continued reviews on training requirements and why the fatal accident statistics are still at the level they are, complacency is still common place and until that changes the regulations won’t ease up either.
