Think the point is that the entry of cattle is diff every week, therefor hard to judge price change on week

Trade was well up for good feeding cattle this week, I reckon these were up by £80+ head at least but of course the average includes a lot of rubbish including some that made £20 head I think it was.

Very similar entry quality wise this week compared with last week.

This mornings effort.

The 42kg were smartish mainly Texal cross. The 50kg was a single reject ram lamb out on my breeding bunch. The 43kg pen was a mix of Suffolk cross and char cross.

This was Sedgemoor this morning, the buyers must have sharpened their pencils on their way up the M5 from Exeter! Only 700 in, whether that made any difference I don’t know.

Who do you get buying there and how many of them, just 4 in Exeter today.

Tim Hawkins, Derrick ??, Farmers Fresh and Jaspers. No butcher buyers at all.

Ill be having a word with Russell as I can see myself not bothering with Exeter if this trend continues which is a pity as its on my doorstep.

Possibly, though the lambs in today and last couple weeks have been decent. There was a lovely run of 48kg Char X that sold well, think it was about 6 pens, lovely tight lambs. Plus there were some real tight texal cross, again 6 pens.

Only a hand full of crap in and I was tempted to bid on some 35kg white face lambs myself.

Exeter averaged 171 ppk today.

Sedge averaged 180ppk today..

Russell needs to get more buyers in or else he will end up with the same sort of market as Hatherleigh used to be on Mondays before it closed down.

There’s not that many more buyers at Sedgemoor, 6 or 7 regulars I would say. Jaspers come up from Exeter every week, unsure about the rest of them.

In fairness, it’s only the past couple of weeks that there has been much of a difference. 26/11 Exeter SQQ 3p up on Sedgemoor and 19/11 Exeter SQQ 6p up on Sedgemoor.

In truth I think they would both benefit from more buyers!
