The volume required to make a difference would be astronomical in logistics to both pipe and pump. And whilst there might be massive rainfall up there. Its predominantly coastal with small catchments that feed straight to the coast. Once upon a time as was mentioned by Roy's mate
there was talk of digging a channel from the southern ocean to lake Eyre, and creating an inland sea. I wonder how beneficial the added evaporation would have been if they did so?
