Best IAE cattle crush

Got one of these for our new handling set up. http://www.squeezecrush.com/built_for_purpose.html#

Love it, would definitely recommend a squeeze crush of some sort. So much easier, cattle stand a lot quieter. Had a duel width IAE before, the squeeze crush is in a different league. Not cheap but soo worth it!

Edit, fine for TV testing too, has a separate access door at neck area, ideal for tb testing.

I’d love a squeeze crush but I’d need a serious amount of cattle more than I’ve got to justify one!

Any advice on different makes of head scoop ?
From experience with ours (All things I've told the rep about):
Weve only had Bateman scoops but my observations are:
Check how far out it swings when not engaged, if you have the cage around the front. We've had cows get heads through the gap in panel where it swings out of the way. We remedy the problem by leaving the scoop in the gap, some scoops don't swing back as far.
The ones that don't swing out of the way don't lift the cows head as high, well the protype they sent us to test didn't anyway as it was dual handed. This makes it less useful with different sized stock, unless you reattach the scoop at different heights.
Check the gap between yoke and scoop, we've had calves wriggle out and drop their head under the scoop. If you've a decent rump bar that pushes the calf right up to the yoke this isn't as bad.

We looked at a few manufacturers and now we have the American Squeeze crush here, with manual squeeze, head yoke, and chin scoop. It has a guillotine gate operated from front of the crush, an old IAE vet box behind (solid doors at the bottom half), a sliding door, 10ft race and another sliding door from the forcing pen. I don't think auto yoke wouldn't work with our beasties, they are too slow :ROFLMAO:.

Squeeze crush is great for handling mixed age groups, and the solid panels either side of the yoke stop awkward so-and-so's getting their legs caught.

Evening all,

Looking to set up a new handling system for a Limousin suckler herd and was just wondering how people have found the various ones offered by IAE? We sell at about 10/11 months so are looking for a crush that is just as good for restraining smaller animals. We used AI last year and are hoping to continue with this in the future (hence the new handling system for the sometimes wild Limmys!). The AI technician recommended a crush with a rotating rump bar. Had a look at the squeeze crush but seems that not everyone finds this good for TB testing.

Would be very grateful to hear your thoughts
try a arrow quip works very well just not galavnizing option

I'm afraid I always post these 2 videos in crush threads, and as you are a new member I'm doing it again!!!
I'm not going to say it is what you should buy but I think it is important to know all the features that are available. I think Bateman and IAE are behind most of the American 'chute' manufacturers and the lesser known British ones such as Morris. The certainly do not make helpful videos of their products actually being used!

Found the Morris website @JP1 and thought it was a poor site. No photos of the crushes actually being used or even on farm, no list of accessories or maybe there are none.
Also the bain of my life no prices, why o why have a website with no prices

Their website is rubbish and their FB site not much better. I've told Pete this over and over again. I offered to help him with his marketing once. The best I can suggest is to ring him up. When you find ther stand at Builth Wells or wherever the products can speak for themselves and Pete and his Dad very helpful

We have an IAE M1000 manual squeeze crush. We put cattle from 100kg to 550kg through it. It's well finished and works well. Has a manual yoke, head scoop, front and rear yoke operation, can squeeze and release from either side and a sliding rear door as well as weigh bars. The only real problem with it is that it could do with being a foot or two longer if you have large cows or take finishing stock to big weights. Has three access panels on each side so any trimming, testing or vaccinating is safe and easy, makes life a lot safer and easier.

I've got the same model as in the video and you'll have no problem height wise.
I've got one big cow which is very wide when heavy in calf and she is tight but she would be quite exceptional.
I will take some measurements if that would help or I'd recommend ringing Kitt agri who sell them and ask if you can contact someone close for a look.

Pleased with our Morris squeeze crush so far. Miss the rotating rump bar off our old crush but overall better job
Only had it a few weeks now.

Bought an IAE dual width crush 6 years ago...
They are not perfect. With a couple of alterations they are much improved. Neck scoop a must although they do want to push forward making it harder for vet to jab neck. Currently making a rotating head bar to force cattle backwards.

Strong and well made. Vet says she prefers sliding gate over rump bar. Mine have rear gate which I have altered to open / close with over head lever to save arms being snapped. This works well.

We bought a Chieftain Dual (Tri!) Width in 2015. We put a sliding rear door and a super scoop on it and have found it very good. The access is excellent.

The only problems we have had, have been once when a beast got his leg over one of the lower yoke arms and, on a couple of occasions, younger animals were too quick through and in, noticed the gap where the scoop is (a panel has to be removed to fit the scoop), and pushed their heads through, which lead to a couple of minutes of fun and joy... But that was fixed by cable-tying a rubber scraper blade to the crush frame - it visually fills the gap, but it flexes to allow the scoop in and out.

If you have very young animals going through, you can Velcro a piece of the lightweight stable matting to each side, that brings it in another few inches. (y)

@Farmer-Geddon please share a pic of the rotating head bar when it's done, sounds good. TIA.
