Best IAE cattle crush

Will do.I like the simplicity or the Chain in the Priefert video posted earlier.Chain could be time consuming compared to just rotating a bar down and up again. We rattle the cattle through when TB testing so mods need to work quickly.

Lots of different opinions on here but concerning the rotating rump bar I would stick to your AI person's idea. We find it useful for moving them forward into the head yoke especially the younger stock.

I don't have a problem with them going forward as I moved the yoke lever to the rear of the crush and standing behind the head always helps. I leave front gate open and hold yoke at half mast so head goes through but they stop at the shoulders before closing.

We have an IAE with rotating rump bar and access kiosk behind. They don’t make our model anymore but essentially it’s the front end of a crusader plus (look on website) and the arse end of a Saracen rotating rump bar crush (took some working out that). We have a foot trimming kit and a kiosk behind the crush (can’t see on website)...
Really helpful, thank you very much :)

Got one of these for our new handling set up. http://www.squeezecrush.com/built_for_purpose.html#

Love it, would definitely recommend a squeeze crush of some sort. So much easier, cattle stand a lot quieter. Had a duel width IAE before, the squeeze crush is in a different league. Not cheap but soo worth it!

Edit, fine for TV testing too, has a separate access door at neck area, ideal for tb testing.
Just had a look at their website, looks impressive. Couldn't see any prices, are they much more expensive?

I'm afraid I always post these 2 videos in crush threads, and as you are a new member I'm doing it again!!!
I'm not going to say it is what you should buy but I think it is important to know all the features that are available. I think Bateman and IAE are behind most of the American 'chute' manufacturers and the lesser known British ones such as Morris. The certainly do not make helpful videos of their products actually being used!

Great videos, thank you for posting! Really interesting. Agreed, would be much more helpful if IAE and Bateman had more videos of the crushes in use.

Thank you very much for the input all, really helpful and greatly appreciated. Lots to think about! Will look into the other brands recommended as well. Stopped off at our local MVF branch this afternoon to see which ones they had on display. Saw the Crusader Plus and the Chieftain Manual Squeeze. Anyone had any experience with these?

I've got the same model as in the video and you'll have no problem height wise.
I've got one big cow which is very wide when heavy in calf and she is tight but she would be quite exceptional.
I will take some measurements if that would help or I'd recommend ringing Kitt agri who sell them and ask if you can contact someone close for a look.

We had several cows carrying twins just before last TB test and they would not fit through our crush . I have found someone not too far away with a Priefert so will have a look sometime. I don,t want to rush into buying and then regret it.
Is the Priefert good for TB testing access? I am at the moment on 60 day testing so that is a priority.

One point I have noticed going from an older IAE crush to the American squeeze crush, and will be valid with all crushes, is that the ones that have the side doors that open full length, but split top half and bottom half are better than the ones that open full height but front half and back half. The reason being, if you have the full heightback door open a cow can kick out to the side and hit you, whereas with a top/bottom opening door if you have the bottom door open the top half stops them from lashing out to the side.

However its even better with a squeeze crush as they don't kick at all!

Don't know to be honest, didn't price any others up, went to look at the American one and really liked it so didn't look any further. Where are you as your welcome to come have a look at our set up. We have the adjustable width race that they do to match the crush which works really well, and close it down for calves so they can't turn around. Yet opened up can still fit out stock bulls down.
