Stewardship Payments for 2018

Well I’ve got an email from the RPA today. They say I’ll get a 75% bridging payment in April if I haven’t received an”advanced payment” in March.

I don’t know what an “advanced payment” is but I didn’t get one anyway so it’s the 75% for me at some point in the next 3 weeks if they keep their word this time!

I had an email from the RPA also................. but apparently they can't pay a bridging payment on my agreement as apparently the agreement has changed.

It's been the BL##DY same since it started @RPA and it was one of the first CSS agreements !

It would be nice for them to pay 2017, let alone a bridging payment for 2018

had the email saying bridging payment will be paid by end of april

so now hoping it arrives in april

the costs associated this income were first paid out in 2017 with the expectation of some payments in mid to late 2018 when we would have received harvest moneys if we had cropped the land

is this payment then classified as income or a loan on account

On account as bad debt

Just had the same email after being promised full payment in March or a bridging payment in April. So, I phoned the RPA, who were unable to give me any information about my claim, or when I might get paid.

Shockingly, they just gave me the phone numbers for FCN & RABI which apparently “should be my first port of call” and that they “deal with this sort of thing all the time”.

I’m speechless really. They owe me £12k at the moment, and I’m obligated to go on spending money to comply with my agreement.

I’d leave the scheme if I could, but then they would demand instant repayment of the money paid in 2017 followed, no doubt, by swift court action if I failed to pay on time.

That is disgraceful but you can bet that there will be something in the small print somewhere that allows them to get away with this theft, and theft it is as even when we do get paid they have had access to our money while we have cash flow problems, overdraft payments etc.
