deutz ttv popping out of gear

no lol with a big pile on top its 18t max, but I just hook up another older non tandem trailer to this one

you can't haul 25t? what's the problem

Sweden and Canada have a 60t gross limit. so the lambo weighs 6t, each trailer 5t that is 16t empty with 36t of grain and two trailers gives 52t with 8t to spare lol

Definitely not in the UK, although our gross train weight went from about 24t to 31t in 2015 the max legal trailer weight here behind a tractor stays at 18.29t. So you folks can definitely haul way more!

How do you brake the second trailer on your 25t combination out of interest?

This will be no use, but a Fendt I had used to pop out of gear (dash arrows incl) and culprit was the seat or switch underneath. Seat was buggered, so I bought a new one. All went well until vario blew but that was a few years later.

it has remotes in the back for the 2nd trailer. and in the front you can divert the hydraulics and pick which trailer to tip. 2nd trailer cant be tandem because the vertical load of 2-3t would snap off the hitch, so it needs to be the front steering axle variety. so like this https://www.joskin.com/images/attelage-deltacap.jpg

btw joskin trailers are made in poland

thanks, i think mine is a mechanical problem because it only happens in high range. my dash arrows dont change so the computer thinks its still in gear.

taking SDF to court

SDF kept stalling and telling me to wait, I waited 3 years come on

the dealer was good did what they could. they actually don't exist anymore but the same service guys went private so I keep using them will need to setup a time so they can come with the pc

unless there is a way to get into service menu like fendt?
Good luck with your legal action

I am still waiting for the service guys to come out, seems they aren't in any hurry

does anyone know if there is a service menu i can load and do the calibration myself without a deutz interface cable?

you guys worry too much :) in usa/canada you can tow with your car whatever it will pull, there is limit in the registration papers like in europe. also semis there can drive at whatever the speed limit is, so 85mph in texas is fair game and no 90kph speed limiters like in the EU

In the UK if a tractor was "jumping out of gear", I'd expect the dealer to be out to the tractor the next day at the latest......

Yeah but we're not in the USA, they may let you tow more, they also let you buy guns to shoot kids, but hey!

Anyway, going by how you have it loaded with it doesn't sound like it's "jumping out of gear", it sounds like your blowing a relief valve in the transmission, its there to protect it and it will release pressure at a set level. It's Not a warranty/fault, just a protection system.

ok to update, service came today, we did a test drive to warm the oil up to 40C in the transmission for the calibration. it popped out of gear 4 times decelerating and once accelerating. the tractor was not hitched to anything. after calibration same drive and so far so good, hasnt popped out. so i am optimistic, will know for sure end of the month when i start hauling grain again all day. i was told to get at tranny you have to remove the cab? what a pita that will be i rather sell and buy a new tractor lol

Did they notice any error messages when they were doing the calibration? Hopefully the calibration sorts it, but next steps for them would be to access the diagnostic pressure test points and run various pressure tests on the TTV unit.

no there were no error codes. so after an hour of pto work today, unfortunately the problem is back :(

again only in high range. so next step you say is this pressure test?

In general, you should always be using the lowest mechanical range when doing any heavy draft work, whether it’s also PTO work or not. The high range should really only be for road work.

That said, dealer should be doing further diagnostics and pressure tests to make sure it’s all in spec.

It does sound relief valve related.

ya i can hear something let go in the transmission when it happens. is that valve easy to get to? i will do anything except take the cab off that sounds like a pita

i did quite a bit of fertilizer spreading in high range 30kph before this started happening

I'm no expert on Deutz TTV boxes, but I reckon any relief valves (there should be several) are more than likely to be buried deep in the tranny.

Saying that there may be an access hatch, for testing etc which the dealer tech should be able to tell you the difficulty of access is.
