CNH Electristeer fault

Quite important for timing issues, to do with position information as I understand it.

For example it may cause the receiver issues with interpretation of the GPS satellite almanac which the receiver downloads, telling it where to expect to “see” the birdies and which ones are healthy or out of service.

Very accurate system time is also needed to calculate absolute position, so the actual calculated position may be significantly out. It may cause issues with correction services for the same reasons.
Thanks.
A good informative post (y)

Hope mine are OK then.

I’ve got the Case version on my sprayer, been fine up until Sunday, used Friday with no problems, Sunday it didn’t want to know. Comes up with a fault warning saying can’t engage and if problem doesn’t clear reset system.
I’ve not reset it yet as I’d rather not lose all settings, I’ve done some test calibrations today and it operates left and right itself but ask it to engage on a A-B line and the fault reappears, it does this on RTK and egnos so I’m not suspecting signal, also the tractors all work fine on our RTK mast at the moment. I don’t hold out much hope that my dealer will know. Any thoughts appreciated.

The ECU-S1 needs a software update due to the week rollover number.
It was communicated to dealers earlier this year if not last year I think.
The dealer can do the software update for you.

Thanks, so it’s more likely the ecu not the pro 700?? Is it not possible for me to download the update somewhere as I can connect to the ecu with a laptop??
I wonder if my screen also needs an update as it won’t show DGPS or GPS speed, it’s stuck on wheel speed, I’ve not a sensor for that so obviously that’s not working, I put my other pro 700 on it and that reads GPS speed and gets DGPS but does not have the software on it to connect to the ecu so isn’t any good for the sprayer.
The sprayer screen which is connected to port B of the 372 is functioning as before and is fine.

If the problem has started at the time of the GPS week rollover then it’s most likely related to the ECU-S1 not being at the correct software version

I’m not sure. I don’t think the file is available online.

I think think this happens because the display will always try to use the most accurate source for speed calculation. So if you have a display without the software to communicate with the ECU-S1 then the only source it can work with is the GPS receiver itself so it communicates directly with the GPS probably through the serial port on the back of the display

Thanks again, I used it without problem on Friday the 5th, and then again on Sunday the 7th and that’s when it first stopped working.
